But, why?
"There shouldn't be a day dedicated to showing someone you love them." While this is completely true, think about how many other "holidays" are like this. How about Mother's Day? Wait, shouldn't I show the woman who gave me life that I appreciate her everyday? Same with Father's Day. Minus God, my daddy is the #1 man in my life and always will be. He deserves to be appreciated everyday, too, right? What about Thanksgiving? SHOULDN'T I COUNT MY BLESSINGS EVERYDAY?
So what's wrong with having a day for significant others to show each other how much they care about one another? Actually, who said Valentine's Day is ONLY for people in love? Give someone you love a gift from your heart. Whether it's a store-bought card or homemade brownies. Whether it's for your parent, roommate, best friend, or dog.
"Many women are pressuring men into relationships or V-day dinner dates with them so they can get lots of attention or feel loved on this special super romantic day." Wait, what? I can't even begin to explain how overly-generalized this is. I don't like Valentine's Day for the gifts I get (if I get any). I like Valentine's Day for the gifts I give. I love love. I love to love. I love seeing people happy.
Valentine's Day is about appreciating the special person in your life, just like any other holiday.
